$950,000 Class Action and PAGA Settlement Granted Preliminary Approval in Doe 1 v. Aronson Industries, Inc.

On May 12, 2026, the Superior Court of California, County of Alameda, granted preliminary approval of a $950,000 class action and representative (“PAGA”) settlement in Doe 1 and Fernando Zamudio-Piedra v. Aronson Industries, Inc. and Levi Aronson (Case No. 25CV132788).

The lawsuit alleges violations of California wage-and-hour laws, including failure to pay wages and overtime compensation, failure to provide compliant meal and rest periods, failure to reimburse business expenses, failure to provide accurate wage statements, waiting time penalties, unfair competition, and civil penalties under the California Private Attorneys General Act (“PAGA”). Defendants deny Plaintiffs’ allegations and deny any wrongdoing.

The proposed settlement covers current and former non-exempt employees who worked for Defendants in California from July 21, 2021 through the date of preliminary approval of the settlement.  Court filings estimate there are approximately 243 class members covered by the settlement.

The Court approved the proposed class notice and settlement procedures and scheduled a Final Approval Hearing for September 1, 2026, in Department 21 of the Alameda County Superior Court.
